Papyrus
Paper was made from Papyrus by the ancient Egyptians. Above is an image from the library of Congress depicting Bedouin women carrying stacks of papyrus. Bedouin is a term used to describe people of predominately desert-dwelling Arabian ethnic groups. Bedouins from Egypt mostly live in the Sinai peninsula.
